Freya and the Blue Whale is an adventure story where two girls meet a whale, become friends, and end up riding the whale on the ocean. The girls explore Mustang Island, far in the Southern Pacific Ocean, where they find a cave. They return to the cave one day and a giant whale is in the pool. The girls, Freya and Sue quickly find Isaac the wise fisherman who helps them feed and take care of the injured whale. Eventually Sue decides they should ride her horse Sissy to the cave and put her saddle on the whale. Amazingly enough this works fine and the whale feels good enough to take them on a ride in ocean where gulls, and Dolphins follow along. When the girls return for another ride the whale is gone and they see him jumping and playing with other whales far out to sea, the Blue Whale is free.
