Fresh from the Past is a gateway to the culinary culture of 18th century Britain and early America, with a full host of recipes and fascinating details about domestic life. She describes how historic families learned to cook with the seasons and tells us what they ate for regular meals, at fancy parties & restaurants etc.
Frankly, I found this to be a fun romp through history. The recipes have been accurately converted to today's cooking standards. It also provides the original recipes from years ago. It was fun reading about the origins of the dishes and the reasons they were created. I would recommend this book as a fun kitchen exercise.
