The addict in your life is probably a loved one, a child, a parent, a friend. You love this person. You care about them and their life. It hurts you when they steal from you, lie to you, manipulate you. Please understand that the person you love is under the control of a force so demonic that the true person is suppressed almost to the point of not being there anymore. I guarantee you that this person loves you too, that they would never hurt you in a million years. Separating the addict from the addiction is crucial in dealing with the addict. Remember that when they lash out in anger and start yelling and cursing at you that it is their addiction (demon) doing it not them. The addiction will do anything to protect itself.
