Blandly interesting

The first part about Sulla's capture of Rome is very exciting, but the appearance of Caesar ruins everything. He's not as interesting a character as Sulla or Marius or even Pompey the Great.The tragic death of the Samnite consul Mutilius at the hand, or rather sight, of his wife was most memorable.
