Freedom is the best care. The insane asylum never again!

This book brings a study conducted with two mental health teams, in the context of two Centers of Psychosocial Attention - CAPS, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, focusing on Phenomenology.Psychiatric Reform brought about a paradigm shift in psychosocial care, especially regarding the processes of reorganization of the care model and the daily practices underway in the substitute services. Considering interdisciplinarity as an important strategy for the organization of work in the care of CAPS users, the dimension of perceptions in the context of the mental health team practices becomes relevant. The study shows that the new experience of the deinstitutionalized patient, inserted in the new model, needs to re-learn how to live in group, to live together, once the subject's existence is still institutionalized, showing the expressive dimension of the body that still lives the "incarcerated" model. The perception of professionals about the Singular Therapeutic Project points to a dimension focused on the human uniqueness of the user and his/her potential, denoting a personalized and humanized care.
