There is a question many Christians carry for years without ever saying it out loud.
We sing about freedom. We read about freedom. We hear sermons about freedom. We underline verses that promise freedom. Yet somewhere in the quiet places of our hearts, we wonder why freedom often feels so difficult to experience.
The question usually surfaces after failure. Not necessarily after some dramatic moral collapse. More often it appears after the ordinary struggles that seem to follow us year after year. The impatience that shows up again despite countless prayers. The lustful thought that appears when we least expect it. The angry response we swore would never happen again. The anxiety we thought we had finally surrendered to God. The bitterness we believed we had already forgiven.
We find ourselves standing amid the wreckage of yet another disappointing moment and wondering, If Jesus has truly set me free, why does sin still seem to have so much influence over my life?
