These poems reflect my experience entering the work force, exiting the workforce to freelance, and loosing trust in people. With strong language and vivid metaphors, I put my pent up frustrations on blast. At this point of my life, I realized that therapy (and damn near everything needed to take care of yourself) costs money. And as a black woman with hand tattoos and locs, it felt like my income level would never change. Writing and editing these poems, crafting the artwork and page layouts, and constantly revising the book cover was my Free Therapy. Stubbornly, I worked on this book from 2019-2020 with minimal help. From this experience, I learned to lean on those who care for me at every step of the process. Never stop your healing process due to lack of money. Do your research while in the gutter. (Let the public library be your bae.) When you come out the mud, you'll understand that we need each other. ***ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS BOOK WILL NOT BE SPENT UNTIL I FIND/CREATE A SYSTEM THAT HELPS PAY FOR THERAPY SESSIONS FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDS IT.***
