A Good Message, A Great Book for Younger Readers, But Needed a Little Something

First off: this author deserves high praise for bringing this book about. Indie authors put a lot of work into their stories so kudos to this one for bringing it to life! “Free” is a Christian historical fiction taking place on the high seas. It’s about a young girl who must learn to find hope in a tough situation, relying on her faith to make it through. The story is lighthearted and is worth handing to younger readers. But all the same, I wish that there had been more descriptions and elaborations of scenes. Some scenes were over and done with before you even realized something had happened. I would have liked to see more immersion in the world the author was creating. I’ll say this: the book was lighthearted and hopeful, not to mention clean. So I’ll give the author credit!
