There is no doubt in my mind that Chris Heidenrich put a great deal of research into the writing of this book. It is well written and comprehensive. Every college, university, and high school in Frederick County, Maryland should have a copy in their library. Every library in the state of Maryland should have copies on their shelves. Every family living in Frederick should have a copy for their children, and their children's children. As urban sprawl advances, history seems to retreat. Ms. Heidenrich's book chronicals the history of Frederick County for generations to come. Personally, as an author and a citizen of Frederick County, I thank her for the gift she has given to us. Frederick: Local and National Crossroads is a treasure, and a pleasure to read. I am proud to have a signed copy on my bookshelf to pass down to my kids.
