A riveting supernatural horror novel delving into the horrifying consequences of worshiping Santa Muerte with evil intentions. "If you love a good tense novel with deep moral undertones then this one's for you " Amazon When an enigmatic town doctor saves the life of Anisa Worthington's dying son, she abandons Christianity in favor of devotion to the cult of Santa Muerte or Saint Death. Some believe the mysterious skeleton saint will protect their loved ones, help in matters of the heart, and provide abundant happiness, health, wealth, and justice. But others, including the Catholic Church, call the cult blasphemous, evil, and satanic. Anisa introduces Santa Muerte to her friend Helen Randon, and soon one of Helen's enemies is brutally murdered. Town residents begin plotting to rid the Bible belt of so-called apostates. Anisa suspects Helen is perverting the good tenets of Saint Death. Before she can act, a terrifying nightmare propels her to the Dominican Republic in search of Franklin, her long-lost and unstable brother. To her horror, Anisa learns Franklin is worshiping Saint Death with evil intentions. As a fanatical and hell-bent lynch mob tightens the noose, mysterious murders begin occurring all around Anisa. Unable to distinguish friend from foe, she's thrust into a vicious life-and-death struggle. If you enjoy well-researched Santa Muerte books that adhere closely to the beneficial aspects of this folk religion while outlining the devastating consequences of worshiping with evil intentions, you'll love Freaky Franky."The author did an awesome job developing each main character, along with the side characters. So that made me really love the book because I got a chance to get to know not only the main characters but some of the supporting characters. The story's main focus is the devotion to Santa Muerte, or Saint Death. I found that really interesting and I learned a lot about this form of worship, which is mainly from the Mexican culture. Just like with any religion or worship, the prayer gets a different outcome depending on whose doing the praying " Amazon "Blackwell's descriptive writing style allows us a personal glimpse into the minds of his characters to a point where you will feel as though they're lifelong friends. My only dislike is that it ended " Amazon "The suspense builds as we follow several characters as they worship Saint Death, receiving both miraculous cures and the curse that often befalls the Saint's worshipers. Some violent scenes but an entertaining read." Amazon "If you're looking for a horror with a slice of religion, I recommend this book. It's one of the greatest horror novels I've ever read and it's not a clich (for me) plot. I rate this book 10/10." Goodreads Click the orange button top-right and get your copy today.
