This is a story of Bez, the man with the maracas and Shaun Ryder's sidekick in the Happy Mondays. Bez was the embodiment of the eighties 'Madchester' scene - when asked by a journalist why he took so... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Yes, a book written by Bez himself, the freaky dancer from Happy Mondays. As can be expected it is written in a very hilarious infectious and very very chaotic way. It shows why this rather talented group of people were not really able to stay at the top.

The Mondays legendary dancin sidekick proves that he was more than that,in this very streetwise and candid account of his pre mondays days as a petty criminal to joining the mondays and then suddenly shuttled to nationwide rock an roll stardom. the way bez comes across as he relays his story like a true commoner will really charm you, like the story was beind told to you by one of youre best mates......cool.bez leaves no stone unturned as he take you on a tour of his life of crime from his adolescence, always into scams an gettin grief of the local filth(police),to his days in a young offenders institute,to chillin out in morroco tokein knock out double zero(opiated cannabis). The book is also very very funny in places take for incidence the time bez and his mates where raiding a warehouse for designer gear an sports equipment, suddenly the alarm is triggered an bez an his ilk are fleeing like rabbits and in there haste knock over a basket full of hundreds of golf balls and cant run off due to tripping up on them...only to be nicked by the old bill....Classic. Most of the book focuses on bez's relationship with the band an shaun ryder in particular and there drug taking of course, funnily enough bez was never invited to join the band he just got up onstage one time an started dancin like a gibbon and the others really took a shine to him. The band days are somewhat of a rollercoster of lost memories as you can imagine being on the road with the nations then number one ecstacy consumers, with the mondays peaking in 1990/91 with the pills thrills an belly aches album plus the mass hype around the band whipped up by the madchester scence, sadly it all starts to unravel as the mondays get into harder drugs an the music starts to suffer an band start dishin out mediocre albums and then finally the total melt down of the mondays an there split, not to mention bez's broken arm and bout of gangerene he contracted in the bahamas....but thats another story...actually thats in here too..lol.....Boys own stuff indeed!
