Franny Bannani is the first book in a series (Just for Fun Collection) of fun books about a family of witches.

Franny Bannani lives with a silly name in a bit of a crazy household. Her mother and grandmother are both witches but her father is a mere mortal. Her mother is also only part witch. This leaves Franny with very little power which is fine by her as she lives in the normal world and attends normal school.

Franny's mother Esmeralda, who also had a mortal father and is losing her power as she ages, makes a lot of mistakes or magical mishaps with her spells. Especially lately. Angry at a bully named Junior who makes fun of a little autistic boy named Bear, Esmeralda loses her temper with the bully. She then accidentally turns him into a toad. Chaos ensues with the neighbourhood and police when Junior is considered missing. The only way to fix this error or undo the spell is to obtain a special potion. The potion is only made by the chief of the trolls who lives in another world.

Franny is the only one that is able to pass through the portal (witches with power are not able to pass through) to get to where the chief troll lives. Can she do it? It is Franny Bannani to the rescue
