There are lots of “Dune” (s) out there, from the series to the movies, and still, new Dunes are being made all the time. This Dune book is part of the (Penguin Galaxy) collection by Neil Gaiman and the first in a Dune series of books by Frank Herbert. (Part of the Dune Universe (#15) Series and Dune (#1) Series) You will want to collect and read the Penguin Galaxy series and hope it keeps growing. The introduction in this book covers the Penguin Galaxy series as of the time of its printing. The introduction by itself could be a great overview book of many other Sci-fi books and gives a well-informed description of what Science Fiction is. You will need to be familiar with many of the works to appreciate the introduction by Neil Gaiman. The cover was designed by Alex Trochut and has no dust jacket, which makes it feel a tad naked. However, it stands out on the shelf. You are not afraid to hold this in your hand, as it is quite functional. It is not as cluttered as the cover of the Dune Hardcover Deluxe edition. There are excellent Appendices: The Ecology of Dune The Religion of Dune Report on Bene Gesserit Motives and Purposes The Almanak en-Ashraf I can go on and on.
