Excellent framing "manual"
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
If you are a framer or a beginer getting ready to build a new home, I would recommend you buy this book immediately! It is chock full of articles from Fine Homebuilding specifically discussing framing...pretty much every aspect of framing a house in a step-by-step method. It even discusses framing a pressure treated basement and building a scale model of the home before building it (something I will do next time I build a house). Pictures are pretty good (it does a great job illustrating framing a gable dormer...something I couldn't find until too late when I was building my house.) I did forget to add that I am in the middle of building my own house, and found this to be exactly what was needed.
