Fragments: Poetry

Like many books of poetry, Fragments is composed of fifty prose and narrative poems that are vignettes depicting various aspects of life. There is no overarching theme to the poetry other than each poem takes a brief look at a facet of the human condition. In this way, the poems represent aspects of life that are united mainly by being part of life itself.

The dictionary defines fragment as, "A part broken off or detached. An isolated, unfinished, or incomplete part. An odd piece, bit, or scrap." Fragments can be the result of destruction or incomplete development, both of which are parts of living. How many times do people feel broken or detached, unfinished or incomplete, or like an odd piece that doesn't quite fit in? It is for these souls that Fragments was written.
