Fragments is a very powerful and unforgettable memoir.

In the book Fragments, Binjamin Wilkomirski captivates you into his life and mind through his unimaginable childhood experiences in the death camps. Fragments illustrates his perceptions as seen from a child's point of view. As a little boy he sees the world as a fearful, painful, and an untrustworthy place to be. Wilkomirski was only three or four when he watched his father get killed by a transport truck. He was then torn away from his family and subjected to the terrors of the Majdanek death camp. In the death camp, Wilkomirski learns how to survive starvation, thirst, and long cold marches with no shoes. Wilkomirski illustrates his tremendous guilt over his own survival while watching other children die. In the end, he learns to trust no one even those who showed love and kindness towards him. The purpose Wilkomirski wrote this memoir was to share his experiences and express to others that they are not alone. I found Fragments to be very powerful and an unforgettable book which I recommend for all to read.

An incredible work about fear and courage in WWII.

This book is a must-read for any one who really desires to know what it was like for the Jewish children in Hitler's concentration camps. Binjamin Wilkomirski vividly recalls his own experience as one of Hitler's chosen youth during the war. His childhood was taken from him by brutal guards, starvation, and the daily witnessing of death. Untill you have read this book, you can never know what it was really like for sufferers of Hitler's treachery.

EXCELLENT BOOK!!

This is an excellent book. I was shocked, in tears and emotionally drained. I would recommend it to anyone.

This book is awfully sad, well-written, and simply told.

This book was a wonderful way of getting present generations to understand what it was like for little children who happened to survive. It's awfully sad, too, when Binjamin sees his mother for the last time and when he is left in the orphanage. How he can't remember his own siblings. The story is so sad, so real, so true, it's a great Holocaustbook to read.

A must read!

This is one of the most powerfully moving books that I have ever read.One has to just sit and cry when finished.His experiences from a child's view are heart wrenching.It's just incomprehensible
