This star-studded musical is a cinematic tribute to the successful USO tour of Kay Francis, Martha Raye, Mitzi Mayfair and Carole Landis who entertained soldiers from England to North Africa. Embellished with some fictional romance, striking choreography and plenty of laughs, this patriotic film salutes all the entertainers who did their part for "the boys." Includes special appearances by Alice Faye, Betty Grable, Carmen Miranda, George Jessel and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra.

Lots of nice music as those Caissons go rolling along

This is a show about a USO tour during WW11. It has a little more than sentimental value, as I saw Martha Raye during my tour of Vietnam in the late 60s Camp Enari. Where many famous people just went to say that they did, Martha Rey meant it, and you could tell.
You can tell it is one of those made-up films that has stilted and hokey dialogue to try and entertain the viewer. Somehow it works. The movie is based on the experiences of Kay Francis, Carole Landis, and Mitzi Mayfair. And being produced in 1944, we do not get it through a hindsight filter of half a century.
The DVD I watched has:
Isolated score track
Deleted scenes
The real four Jill’s
