The Four-Fires philosophy is simply a defining of the four main areas of life that we should steward well. Those four areas are: The Purpose Fire . This area is made up of our personal relationship with Jesus. Our connectedness to God and how we live out our commitments to him as we hunger and thirst after righteousness. The People Fire . This area is made up of our relationships with our family and our friends. We are not designed to live our lives alone. We should have deep and meaningful relationships with the people in our lives. The Physical Fire . This area is made up of what we eat and how we exercise. Our body is the vehicle God has given us to move around in and do the work he has called us to. It's how we have fun and make memories with our kids, it's how we make love to our spouse, and it's how we serve and love our neighbor as ourselves. The Professional Fire . This area is made up of identifying our craft, or the unique skills and abilities God has given us, and learning to convert that craft into cash so that we can provide for our family, be outrageously generous, save, and invest. Men who live intentionally in these four areas ultimately become the men that God created them to be, "mature and complete, lacking nothing." We wake up every day with an arm full of logs. The logs are our time, energy, and resources and we choose which fires we put our logs on every day. Living 4-dimensionally requires three things: awareness, ownership, and discipline. After you are aware and take full ownership of your life, the last step is consistent discipline over decades. That sounds very daunting unless you are doing it with a group of men that are there to support each other. That is why your Four-Fires small group is important. Real life change happens in community. Lock arms with the men in your life and begin striveing to live the life God intended for you to live.
