Compiling books of an author is a personal thing. The four novels in this collection are a wide variety of of Zane Grey's work and written at different stages of his career. The Rainbow Trail answers many question readers have always had after reading Riders of the Purple Sage and perhaps would have better been paired with it. The Lone Star Ranger is not one of my favorites as it was the creation of editors at Harpers by using a book titled Last of Duanes for the first half of the book and a book titled Rangers of the Lone Star for the second. In so doing the love interest is completely missing in the last part of the book. Under the Tonto Rim is a romantic novel to be enjoyed while relaxing by fire in the fireplace. It is one of Zane Grey's "Tonto Basin" novels and I believe they should all be collected together. And then there is Wyoming. Based on a diary of a young woman and her adventures during the early years of the 20th Century--a "modern" story with cars and veterans of WWI. All in all these four novels are well worth reading. That is why I gave it 5 stars.
