There are many values that you must navigate during your life as a man. None of these values can be fully realized without understanding the role and application of commitment. I wrote this primer for Black men and boys for the purpose of creating a space to initiate discussion on the opportunities and responsibilities of manhood. These lessons of manhood were built and grounded on both words and actions of the imperfect Black men who sought to create better conditions so that the next generation of Black men could better perfect themselves. Whether you are a man who has been blessed enough to be connected to the virtuous chain of men who have anchored you to your legacy, or you must become the anchor in which new legacies are created, my hope is that these words provide support in your journey and undergirds the strength of your inheritance.
