Goldie Hawn & Chevy Chase are so funny in this movie! No matter how often I watch it, I burst out laughing when Gloria pushes the poor dwarf out her window or the chase scene across San Francisco!!! The plot moves from one funny scene to the next hilarious one. Unlike many of Chase’s other movies, that have very little plot and are just so much window dressing to hold the jokes together, the plot of Foul Play is the basis for the comedic scenes… the laughs eminate from the situations of the plot. I just showed it to a friend tonight. She laughed and laughed and wants to buy the dvd for herself! An over 30 year old movie and it still makes people laugh!
Far out!

There are foul deeds afoot. Probably that diabolical cabal, the “Tax the churches league.”
Gloria Mundy (Goldie Hawn) picks up a hitchhiker named Scotty (Bruce Solomon). They make a date to see a retro movie.
While watching the movie, Scott seems to have been punctured. There she hears Scottie's last warning, “Beware of the Dwarf”. Scotty is DEAD.
This leads to a mystery in which people are dying, and a plot ensues.
She is pretty much a suspect in most cases.
The only person who believes or pretends to believe her is Detective Tony Carlson (Chevy Chase). Together, they must figure out if a plot exists and what to do.
Her landlord (Burgess Meredith) rephrases the threat as “Beware of the midgets…they are taking over the world,” and we cannot forget the sinister look on Esme’s (Shirley Python) face.
