Excellent language overview

Katzan introduces Fortran in a logical sequence, and he covers the language in its entirity unlike many "Fortran for Engineers"-type books. The book makes an excellent textbook (though it offers no exercises) or self-teaching tool for someone interested in learning the Fortran 77 language. Appendices include intrinisc functions and syntax charts, and the thorough index makes Katzan's book a reliable reference.
