This story is about my call to active duty with the U. S. Public Health Service in 1977 and my years working as a Sanitarian on the Navajo Reservation. I began as a Staff Sanitarian in the Window Rock Area Office and later was assigned to the Fort Defiance Service Unit, where I worked until August of 1983. The memoir contains much from my personal life, as well as my professional life. The many fine people I met during my assignment made this a very special time in my life.
