Forgotten Dawn: Forgotten Book 2
He ran from his nightmares. She's running from a stalker. Neither expected to find safety in each other's arms.
Chad Crawford's nightmares have returned. Every night, he's back in Afghanistan, watching a missile streak across the painted dawn sky, desperately trying to save a fellow soldier, and reliving the indescribable terror of seeing his best friend walking toward him in the open.
For years, the only thing that has kept the nightmares at bay is staying on the move. And Chad has been at the Circle C Ranch far too long. He always dreamed of settling down on the family ranch someday, but he's not ready yet. So when an unexpected job opportunity takes him to Denver, he jumps at the chance. Being a bouncer at a strip club isn't exactly what he had in mind for his next adventure, but a change of scenery might be exactly what he needs to outrun the memories haunting him. Then he meets Anna Bishop.
Anna loves her job as an exotic dancer, but lately, someone has been leaving disturbing gifts on her doorstep. When her best friend asks her to be maid of honor at her wedding in Oklahoma, Anna sees it as the perfect opportunity to get away and clear her head. The last thing she expects is to spend the weekend dealing with the brooding cowboy who seems determined to get under her skin.
But when Anna returns to Denver, she discovers her stalker hasn't gone away. In fact, her absence only made things worse. Now she needs protection, and the one man she never expected to trust may be the only person capable of keeping her safe.
Chad never planned on staying in Denver. Anna never planned on needing a protector. And neither of them planned on falling for each other. But when danger closes in, Chad will have to decide whether he's ready to stop running from his past and fight for the woman who has become his future.
