Forgotten But Not Gone: Secrets of a Care Home is a novel about the inmates of a care home in the present day who look back on secret parts of their lives, from their youth in the 1950s and through the very different years afterwards.

Each chapter tells a story of one of the inmates - the young man who is obsessed with a much younger schoolgirl, the girl who goes to sea as a purser's stenographer and is unable to cope with unwritten rules, the rich orphan who falls into bad company, the emigrant who is torn between her new life and her old, the engineer who struggles with changing technology, the piano teacher unable to marry one of her pupils, the woman who holds a secret about her son and the former prostitute who stirs up trouble in the care home.
