A clash between good people who passionately believe either life begins at conception or in the woman's right to choose. This zeal leads to murder and a trial. This non judgmental novel shows both... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Donald Silverman's new novel is a most significant and insightful handeling of one of societies most challenging issues. He just keeps getting better and better as an interpreter of the times in which we live. I have come to believe that words and language are the ultimate expression of our creativity and humanity. Somewhere I read "Art is a Lie that Tells the Truth." It is stories like "Forgive Us Our Trespasses" that will ultimately contribute to the survival of our culture. I loved this book and how Silverman's thoughts were transferred from his head to my head by his amazing use of words and language. What a process!

I got into the book and then couldn't put it down as I was interested in all the characters, although I hope they are not typical of the people you meet at the flower shop or the hospital or the law office or church, specially church. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in the subject of abortion and has somewhat of an open mind. It is easy reading also.

Good intentions and a chance meeting spiral out of control in Donald Silverman's "Forgive Us Our Trespasses". Faith is tested and love transforms in this gripping novel of ordinary people trying to cope with extraordinary situations. Exciting and well-written, it will hold your interest until the very last word. David L. Shapiro, author: "Sara's Journey".
"Forgive Us Our Trespasses" strikes a resounding chord...

"Forgive Us Our Trespasses" strikes a resounding chord in the current zeitgeist of twenty-first century America. The religious right and its followers have made their strident voices heard for the last two decades, and are now, finally, being examined more closely by the general population, which, up till this time, has been silent. Especially since September 11th, what is being done in the name of religion throughout the world has moved to the forefront of American thought. This novel gives the readers a glimpse into the life of a person who is moved to use extreme violence for what is thought to be a direct assignment from God. What motivates her and how she deals with the aftermath of her actions is a fascinating narrative. Silverman draws us into the lives of several families whose pasts are similar but whose ultimate choices are radically different. The political, religious and social conscience of a nation is encapsulated in this tale. Who are we and why is violence still a politically and religiously- sanctioned answer to our differences? These are questions we must all consider before we get much farther into this new century. Reviewed by B.A.O'Hara Director and Founder NTP Productions
