Forgive Me if None of This is True

By Ilene Starger

In this collection of selected poems from 2001-2014, Ilene Starger grapples with compelling, personal yet universal subjects: love, mortality, desire, and the stubborn pull of memory. Part poetic memoir, part poetic fiction, Forgive Me if None of This is True reveals this poet's ongoing 'conversations' with those who are present; with those who are not; with the self. Sophisticated, poignant, and often laced with wit, these poems constitute a unique travelogue to places which can be found on maps, and those mapped by the human heart and mind. Highly respected authors have described Starger's poetry as "searing"; "luminous and serene"; "wise, compassionate and transfixing."
