This book is worth the read. It is a quick read, and a good starting point for stock brokers starting in, or looking to get into, the full-commission side of the business. It is easy to tell that this book was drafted in the 80's, when being a stockbroker was different, but there are many messages and concepts that are still valuable today. Things such as the 300 Club, treating your assistants very well, and purging your "book" of accounts you can't service every so often, are very helpful. Clearly this is not the end-all, be-all of "How to be a stock broker" but it is a good starting point, and the author makes it very clear in the foreward, that is exactly his point. I would recommend highlighting the portions you like and going back over those highlighted points from time-to-time. The author even leaves space in the margins to write notes on how "You would handle the situation at hand". Again, it is an older book and some concepts, such as the one page that discusses limited partnerships, can be skipped over. But over all, I would recommend this book as a quick and easy read.
