An illustrated assortment of dog trivia

With plenty of brilliant dog pictures, this book looks at the relationship between people and dogs, so should provide dog lovers everywhere with a lot of fun. Amongst all the fun, you might actually learn a few things you didn't know about dogs. Rather like cats, dogs became domesticated out of mutual interest. Ancient people found that dogs could be helpful to them in various ways, while dogs likewise found that people could make their own lives easier and it has been that way ever since. At various times, dogs have been helpful for hunting, tracking, chasing, guarding, herding, carrying, towing, search-and-rescue, drug detection and explosive detection. Warmth, companionship and loving bonds between people and dogs developed as a consequence of people and dogs helping each other. Here you can read about, and look at pictures of, dogs on show, dogs and their people (especially American presidents, but others too), dogs at work, dogs having fun and dog tails and talents.. You'll find lists of dogs in books, comics, movies and cartoons, as well as lists of popular breeds, rare breeds and dog names. You can also read the heart-warming story of the dog who accompanied has master to the train station every day, and was there to greet him on his return every night. One day, the man died at work, but the dog waited every day in vain for his master to return, until he also died nine years later. A statue was erected at the station as a mark of respect. But the fun nature of this book is the picture of a boy on a children's scooter. He has a backpack in which sit's a dog, with his front paws on the boy's shoulders. If you love dogs, you'll love this book. If you know somebody who loves dogs but you don't understand why, reading this book might help you understand.
