A Cliff-hanger if you ever read one...

E. G. Schrader is an author that you'll want to put at the top of your list of favorites. This is the first book in what will be a series. If you love a book that keeps you guessing and keeps you wanting more, this is the crime drama for you. The cast of characters are colorful and magnificently interwined with one another. As a Library Director, I review or read every new book that comes out and this is one you will want to read. Buy it in bulk and give it as gifts to all your reading friends. You won't be disappointed!

Great Chicagoland Mystery-Thriller

This is a fast moving, quick read. I enjoyed the story and yet the author did not get too technical when legal issues were involved. Fun reading and enjoyable. Leaves one wondering where the relationship between the two key players - the lawyer and the detective - will go. Provided great insight into the Cook County Court and Detention system while keeping one interested in the characters as opposed to the environment in which they operated. Good Read. I look forward to more from EG Schrader - possibly more of Janna and her detective.

This book read so fast - I just couldn't put it down! I bought copies for my thriller-reader friends. I can't wait for the next book from E.G. Schrader

Great Plot

I read a lot of mysteries and thrillers, and have to say that this book kept me rivted from the beginning until the very last page. The plotting was incredible! I find that many of the books in this genre tend to be formulaic and predictable; this one was not. A deviant serial killer in Chicago, an idealistic attorney and believable cops, make up the cast of characters. I only wish that this book had been longer, and that there had been time for more elaborate character development. I will be watching for Schrader's next book eagerly.

A great read!

I loved this book and couldn't put it down! Fast paced and intelligent, it kept me guessing until the very end!!! Janna and Jack are witty and sharp characters. The author does an amazing job of bringing you into the story. Fantastic!
