This book follows an interesting format. It's a collection, almost random, of stories from Mets fans. Some of the stories are long, some short, some from famous people, some from just a fan, some are quite funny some more serious. The only thing that ties them together is that they are about the Mets and Shea Stadium. There are a series of pages of full color pictures. These have reprints of the covers of Sports Illustrated when someone about the Mets is pictured on the front cover. The stories are broken down into a half dozen categories, but these categories are pretty random. For instance in what category would you put the story 'Uncle Bob didn't know anything about horses. He knew that they have four legs, give milk, that's about it.' The book closes with words that were used to close a eulogy, 'maybe he's in a place where there's no pain, where the clouds are beautiful ... and the Mets are in the World Series every year.
