unhurried pace, minimal jargon

Is there really a need for a computer book specifically addressed to people over 55 years old? Lowenstein thinks so, and has supplied this text, now in its third edition. I suppose this indicates that the first two editions were well received. The first thing to note is the sparse nature of the cover. A decided contrast with most computer books these days. Perhaps the conservative, restrained nature of the cover is meant to reassure its putative audience. The text is fine. Nothing to quarrel over its content. Unsurprisingly, Lowenstein deprecates jargon as much as possible. Maybe you too can gain something from this book. Its pace is unhurried. There is no sense of the proverbial drinking from a fire hose.
