This was the most interesting book. Women deal with abuseeveryday, you don't realize some of the horror stories until you read For Every Black Eye.Ms. Hawthorne, character has two personalities as a result of an abusive relationship. She tells a story of strength, healing, recovery anger and revenge. You want to cry one moment and in the next yourwant to shout bravo. You fall in love with all the characters, you begin to fight for each one for various reason.I especially like her knight in shinning armor, of whom thecharacter utterly fights to the very bitter end, he befriendsher and she refuses his friendship. She shows through her characters the power of support, friendship and love. This is the Christmas season and I highly suggest purchasing this book and donating it to any woman's abuse center or perhaps anyone you may know of that is in abusive relationship. This is a must read book, you will not put this book down, you will want to cry, protect, pray or fight, this book is very realist, though it is a book of fiction. Don't miss out onthis authors outstanding work.Bravo, Bravo and More Barvo's

As I read C.F. Hawthorne's novel "For Every Black Eye," it made me feel as if I was actually there when all the problems were occuring. The novel was one of the first novels that I have read in a long while that I couldn't put down! I actually felt all the pain every individaul was going through. I can't wait to read more books by this wonderful author. I would recomend this book to all men and women that are interested in this topic. C.F. keep up the great work and keep writing all these wonderful novels.

A Blackgurls World Book Club Loved For Every Black Eye

Well I just finished reading C.F. Hawthorne's "For Every Black Eye".One of the best books I've read lately and I haven't read too many lately....but damn did this woman put me on an emotional rollercoaster. I don't know if it's because I've witnessed domestic violence or if she is just damn good...but all the same the book is SUPERB. I recommend everyone to read it. Please read it....The book had me cheering out loud at the outcome...Love is a beautiful thing...Thanks C.F. for taking a bad situation and making it BEAUTIFUL! With all the craziness, twists, turns, drama, love, hate, etc....You created a page turner....worth putting everything off for.

For Every Black Eye by C. F. Hawthorne

I thought the book was so real I mean I haven't read a book in a very long time. I finished this book in a day and a half. That's something I've never done before. As I read I felt like I was watching the actual movie. I personally have never been a domestic violence situation but I felt Annie (Febe's) pain. I hurt when she hurt. The characters were so real to me. I have a sister that's going through the same thing that Annie is. She will not leave him for fear of losing everything she worked for. C. F. Hawthorne has opened my eyes to reading again and to a subject that most people either live or don't know anything about. Thanks for the great movie I couldn't even get up to get popcorn for fear of missing something.

This Novel Should Definitely Be A Movie

The brazen new writer C.F. Hawthorne is making her mark in the literary industry with her newly released novel "For Every Black Eye." C.F. Hawthorne tells a story which far too often is not told about the victims of domestic abuse. She shows the internal wounds and scars a victim of domestic abuse lives with even after the abuse has ended. The struggles of being able to love again, the low self-esteem, and the desire to seek revenge are shown in this potent read. But, she also shows through the power of prayer and strong friendships and counseling all scars and wounds can be healed. Even the victim of the most horrific domestic abuse situation can learn to love again and find someone who loves her just for her. You will see love hurts when it comes from a fist and it ain't true love, but it's that twisted love. Real love feels good and is not meant to hurt. So, wait no longer you definitely need to purchase and read "For Every Black Eye."
