Following Jesus Together

By Justin Laughlin

The Bible tells an extraordinary story. At its heart, around 2,000 years ago, events transpired that re-shaped world history. After modeling an exemplary life of love and holiness, Jesus was crucified through a collaborative effort of the religious and political powers of his day. Three days later, he resurrected. Through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus was revealed as the long-anticipated Savior, Redeemer, and King over all Creation. But before Jesus' victory is fully implemented throughout God's Creation, all humanity is to hear the good news and to be invited to embrace Jesus as Savior and King, thereby taking their places in his eternal Kingdom.

This turn of events caused Jesus' earliest followers to completely re-imagine the world in which they were living. They were inspired and compelled to devote their lives to Jesus, inviting everyone they encountered along the way to follow Jesus together with them.

Following Jesus Together (FJT) retraces this ancient path - cultivating a more biblical imagination regarding the world around us in order to inspire and compel faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Over the course of 20 weeks, the life and teachings of Jesus will be brought into focus utilizing five distinct lenses: Getting Our Story StraightThe Gospel ExperienceThe With-God LifeThe Great CommandmentsThe Great Commissions
