Bliss Carradine's love life has always been up and down. Because of her demisexuality, she struggles to find a true connection with someone. There is one man she connects with, however: Theo, the ex-husband she married so he could afford an expensive eye surgery. Still, she's shocked when, following her decision to move back to her hometown of Tucson, he shows up in Arizona.
Theo Diaz doesn't make big life decisions on a whim, and yet, after he and Bliss kiss the night before she leaves Orlando, he decides following her to Tucson is the perfect romantic surprise. Sadly, Theo ends up being the one surprised when Bliss tells him she has no interest in dating. He's ready for a new adventure, though, and chooses to stay in Arizona and start a new life for himself.
As their friendship grows, Bliss and Theo's feelings for each other deepen and soon they're heading into new territory: a relationship. But then Theo's real reason for moving to Tucson is exposed, and it's up to Theo to convince Bliss that following her across the country was the best decision he's ever made for both of them.
