We used this book during a five-day trip to DC this summer. It doesn't have a lot of detail, but it has the basics, such as hours, locations, brief description and comments for 25 of the major attractions, and some limited info on many other minor attractions. We didn't really use the restaurant info--there isn't much, and it's easier to just eat somewhere convenient or interesting-looking, or ask the hotel desk for advice, etc. Also, I don't see the point of including hotel info; that's something you arrange in advance with better research tools and don't need more info once you're done. The beauty of this book is its small size and ability to be easily carried around in a pocket or purse, and pulled out to refer to when trying to decide what to do next. The fold out map in the front cover is fantastic--covers the central DC/Arlington area and includes a Metro map. We used it a lot--it's small and easy to whip out to consult quickly then fold back in without looking too much like a lost tourist. We hardly used the big map in the envelope in the back cover, it's just not very convenient and not really needed unless you're venturing outside the central area. In summary, it's OK for pre-planning a trip but it's great (and highly recommended) for in-the-field reference.

I haven't been to Washington, DC yet to use the book so I'll have to complete the review after the trip
