Out of a commercial plane, now loading into a military C-130. Webbed seats, most uncomfortable thing I ever did sit in. Lots of young, clean, and fresh faces of boys from who knows where. We didn't talk. I wonder why? We're all going to a place called An Khe, headquarters, 4th Infantry Division, in country, central highlands, Don't have a clue where that is, but the Fourth I knew to be greatly involved in the second world war. And I don't care. I didn't volunteer for this, I was drafted, remember? Lucky me.
