Frank Tallman has flown them all--large and small, fragile an resilient, reliable and eccentric. And in this book, the "King of Stunt Pilots" takes you along, into the cockpit, on flights in 25... This description may be from another edition of this product.
One of my favorite movies is Charley Varrick. Browsing IMDB I read about the stunt pilot, Frank Tallman. Further reading told me he wrote this book, which I was able to buy second hand. It is a collection of all the old planes Frank has flown, the circumstances, and other interesting trivia. Pilots and others who love planes and flying would like this book alot.
Highly recommended for pilots and others who love airplanes.

Frank Tallman is a pilot's pilot, and this book is written for pilots who respect their aircraft. It's a great mixture of performance analysis, BEAUTIFUL photography, aviation history, and Frank's own personal experiences. Even a little bit of "pilot humor".The book is organized as a series of "first flight" reports of a variety of early planes, from the 1909 Bleriot and Curtis Pusher, through the dogfighting biplanes of the Great War (Spad, Sopwith, Fokker, Pfaltz...), the 20's and 30's (Ford Trimotor, Spirit of St. Louis...) and finally some great WW II planes (P-40, B-17, B-25, and Corsair).Frank Tallman has flown them all, and owned most of them. You've seen his group's work in MANY motion pictures over the decades.
