If you are looking for the be all end all book on chasing striped bass via the fly, this is it. Rich Murphy has packed anything and everything there is to know about the subject into an encyclopedic book of massive proportions. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wishes to learn more about flyfishing for stripers. Both seasoned veterans and rookies to the game can learn from this masterpiece. Top shelf.

The Literary Equivalent of a 50 pounder

I have only just recently recieved Rich Murpy's incredible effort, but thus far I am totally blown away. I'm not sure I have a more comprehensive book on any type of fishing in my library. From what I have read thus far, I already know I will have a more productive fishing season in 2008! The photography- underwater, above water and aerial- is stunning. The book feels like you are probing the mind of a life-long striper fisherman, and he is revealing all. And I guess that really is what this book is. I ordered it on the recommendations of some well-respected fly fishermen, and based on their review I knew it would be a worthwhile purchase. My expectation fell well short of what I found when I opened it up. No fly fishing striper hunter should be without it.
