There aren't many guys around like Bill Lear. That's probably why so many different women have married him - there's just not enough of him to go around! Besides being an incredible pilot, he's one hell of a storyteller. Most of the book revolves around his flying exploits - from winning races to wowing crowds at air shows. It was rumored that he reported for Aviation Cadet Pilot Training in 1948 in his own P-38 . . . but he'll tell you the real story, which is just as good. And you won't want to miss the part about LearJet, or his "spook" work for the government. When they make a movie about Bill Lear's life (and someone is bound to), Hollywood will be hard pressed to find a leading man who can play him. He's one of a kind. And this is a terrific book -- a real page-turner that will not only impress you and make you smile and laugh, but make you just a little bit jealous of Bill!

With a foreword by the world famous test pilot Tony LeVier, and an endorsement from Art Linkletter, what else is there to say? Well there is lots more to say about this book. Reading this book is simply lots of fun. When you can't go flying, this is the next best thing. I always thought that Ernest Gann author of "Fate Is The Hunter", was the best aviation writer. But now we are lucky, Bill Lear Jr. is a better writer, and story teller. He has a very exciting and entertaining aviation tale to tell. If you love or know some one that likes to fly, get them this book. Read it and then you may understand the addiction of flying. If you are a pilot you will love this book. Once you start reading this book, I'll bet you won't want to put it down.

Don't even try to skip to the "good part" of this book, because it's ALL juicy! Make up your mind to devour each page, including photo captions and footnotes. If you don't, you're sure to miss some tantalizing tidbit. Having had the privilege of working with Bill Lear in the early stages of this book, I can attest to the authenticity of his devastating charm and chutzpah, which are legendary. Just read the book. Bill Lear is the kind of rascal and hero America loves and craves, and has given us a story that will inspire men and make women swoon. (Sorry, girls ... but he's already "taken" by his lovely and vivacious wife, Brenda.) Who knew that flying, spying and surviving could be so much fun? Godspeed, Bill Lear!
