We are nothing without God's forgiveness. Paavola looks at six facets or aspects of God's forgiveness: It makes us clean, covers us with Jesus' blood, it fixes our sins to the cross (our sins forgotten), making those sins far removed from us, as shared many times with us in God's Word, and was completed by One righteous death on the cross. Paavola links these facets to the 6 sides of a cube, 6 different types of wood, and six colors/seasons of the church year. Each chapter ends with verses from several hymns and questions for discussion/reflection.
