I won't give away the story, I just wish to say; very well written!! Yes, I will agree with a previous review; it was all over the place but being so made perfect sense... Each telling their side was a refreshing change to story telling. I LOVE urban fiction but I was ready to take a serious break; all the slang, Ebonics (do they sell Hook on Ebonics??), 10 chapters of monotonous sex and let's not discuss typos are getting a little old. But this book changed my mind and I can't wait for part 2!!!
It Was All Good Just A Week Ago!

No one in the family can believe the oldest son Jerry (a.k.a. Class) would flip on his whole crew, especially his brother Cory. Turning Cory over to the Feds and tell their life story to a jury is so unbelievable to everyone involved, especially their mother. Her motto has always been, "Take care of your own...We are Classon's. We have each other's back and loyalty means everything." Jerry missed the point where you commit the crime you do the time...you don't drag anyone with you. Class told because he thinks his girlfriend Trish really wants him, but she actually wants his money. Sitting up on the stand, day after day, giving testimony to all the crimes he, his brother Corey and a supposedly close friend Nafiys have committed is the hardest thing he has ever done in his life. But the faces on Trish and their daughter Coco are all he sees as he tells his side of events. What I like the most about Flippin' The Game was that all the characters got to tell their side of the story and express how they all felt. It did jump all over for a minute there, but as long as you stayed with it, reading the story had your mouth hanging open. You can't believe that Class would really tell all the things he did with no regard for anyone. There were quite a few editing errors that made you re-read the line because that just wasn't the word that belonged; however, the story was told well and actually had a very interesting concept. I would recommend Flippin' The Game to anyone. It's actually nice to read a different kind of street story that definitely had a twist to it. Reviewed by Angie for Urban Reviews
Snitches get Stitches

"The label of a snitch is a lifetime scar. You'll always be in jail minus the bars." Jay Z couldn't have spoken more true words then that. When it came to the Classon's, the leaders of the infamous Black Top Crew, being a snitch was out of the question. With fancy rides and jewels for days these brothers were so far on top you couldn't see over their heads. But they were like night and day, one being a negotiator and one being a dictator. When Jerry got locked up his brother put the Black Top Crew on the map, but who knew that he would take a plea and snitch on the entire squad? This was one hell of a court case that Myles and Alethia have spun that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Sometimes being on top can be way to much pressure, and when the walls come tumbling down beware of flying bricks and snitches. This was definitely a good read for 2009.
The Label of a Snitch is a Lifetime Scar!!!!!

The Black Top Crew has a problem, there's a snitch amongst them. But what happens when the Snitch is your brother? The brother who you fought side by side with to build the same criminal empire that he's now choosing to drop dime on. The decision to turn snitch wasn't any easy one for Jerry Classon, aka Class, but he decided to do what he had to do to save himself and his family. But his concept of family never went beyond his 3 year old daughter CoCo and her mother Trish. What about the case he's helping to build against his younger brother Corey or the stress he's putting on his mother who forced to sit in court and watch her oldest son testify against her youngest son? In Flippin' The Game authors Alethea & Myles Ramzee take a hard core look at what the repercussions of one brother's choice has on his entire family. Told in the voice of each character readers get an in depth look at what influenced Class' decision to snitch and how it effected his family and his crew. The Ramzee's let you know exactly how much the game has definitely changed when it's come to brother against brother. Flippin' The Game is so realistic that I wanted to send my deliberation slip in so my voice can be heard in Part 2; Stand Up: The Jury's Back!

253 Pgs. I must admit starting to read street novels was a bit trying. I have come to find each time I discover or read a new one, my thirst for more is hightened. Alethea and Myles Ramzee creates the epiphany of "THE STREET" all together. "Flippin' The Game" as suggested in the title can only allow readers to assume varios possiblities. I was way off. It was well worth it, totally. My suggestion would be to stop by your nearest bookstore and grab(buy) a copy to see how far your assumptions lead. Happy reading Yoli
