Danielle Estelle Ramsay's debut poetry collection, Flight Without Machinery focuses on the struggle of survival with Bipolar Disorder and CPTSD. This collection is loosely organized according to Jean Piaget's stages of cognitive development, from sensorimotor to formal operational. While this provides structure to the collection, neither development nor memory are linear, thus the poems are not chronological. After all, memories never do us the favor of being neatly organized.
