It was the best of times. It was the worst of times

When Jack and his family come home from holiday one day to find that they have been burgled, Jack finds that this is the beginning of a special time for him. He has to face life without his possessions, as collecting the insurance money becomes impossible. It is up to the family to find new ways to do things. Jack is doing exactly this when he meets Diana a punk who introduces him to a new set of ways of the world. What I liked about this book was the characters were real with believable flaws and hopes. This is an unusual book with characters that are likeable and real. They will keep you intrigued until you reach the very sensitive ending.
Funny, Touching

This book was one of the best books I've read in a long time. Jack and his family come home from vacation one day to find that they have been burgled. All their stuff is gone, and Jack's father won't allow them to collect insurance money. So the family has to find other ways to amuse themselves. Jack goes for a walk and meets the punk Diana, and her nutty family, and they make their own adventures trying to track down the burglars and getting themselves into a big heap of trouble. The end is very sweet and touching, and you are left with a good feeling.
