Dragons being hunted for sport caused the race to panic as their numbers dwindled. One dragon discovered that she could use magic to shape-shift into the human form and breed with them. Over the course of a thousand years, a new race emerged: dragonblood. A dragonblood has the looks of a human but the strength of a dragon.
This is a companion novel to Flames of Adventure: Embers of Darkness. It is not required to read the first book before reading this one, but reading it at some point would help with understanding some of the chapters. Instead of the same story from another character's point of view, this book consists of new characters for the most part. The events take place at the same time as the previous book, and some of the chapters will overlap with chapters from the first book.
