Five Last Acts - The Exit Path (2015 edition): The arts and science of rational suicide in the face of unbearable, unrelievable suffering

This is probably the most compendious authority on the subject in print. With 844 pages (no glossy fillers) it is aimed squarely at the reader seeking a detailed, educated answer on such an important subject, should such a need arise at a future time.

The book is explicit, but not a campaign tool. Conclusions are based on evidence, not anecdotes, and a few are contrary to those of a one or two prominent 'right-to-die' 'experts', internet advisers or outright abolitionists. The multi-disciplinary approach has drawn expertise from law, medicine and ethics and has been the history of its research organisation since its first research-based books, Departing Drugs and Beyond Final Exit in 1995.

No method of self-euthanasia can be perfect, in spite of what some claim. If you are tired of unsupported reassurances it is for you. What this book does is give you the best knowledge and advice available, supported with the scientific references. Where serious academically supported challenges have been mounted to the contents, they are been answered in full (see the chapter on responses to criticism).
