Five Hundred Poems: From the Colours of Poetry series

Coming up with the reason I write and in what circumstances is perplexing, even to me. These poems stand as statements of my time, even from a very early age. The first poem in this collection is the only one I found from the 1960's in my George Best football boots box.
When I read these works, I hardly recognise myself and wonder what influenced me. Though, just sometimes, I do recall the sequence of events leading to their composition.
All of them are written very quickly and once down I spend little time refining them, in most cases not, otherwise the feeling and energy are lost.
