Fabulous

5 Dimes was an amazing book. I couldn't put it down. You can really relate to the characters. We all probably know someone who is in or has been in their situations. I love the way he makes all of their lives come together in the end.

Five Dimes...A Pleasure

I've recently finished reading Five Dimes and I can't begin to say enough about it. I thoroughly enjoyed the closeness between the friends and I love that the story is honest enough to depict the conflicts that often arise within close friendships. The way the characters "have each other's backs" is wonderful and the acceptance of one another's flaws is priceless. Five Dimes is a great journey to take over a weekend or after a long day at work with a nice glass of wine and some jazz playing in the background. Mr. Hilmon is a refreshing new voice in the often repetitive world of African American Literature!

Five Dimes is definitely a dime!

This book is really a page-turner! I enjoyed it from front to back. Mr. Hilmon's writing is intelligent and witty! He is a good storyteller. As a person blessed with good friends, I could certainly relate to this book. I was able to picture each of the characters in my mind and took the journey with each and every one of them. I highly recommend this book and it would be great for book club discussion! I'm looking forward to more books from this talented writer.

Five Dimes

I am just amazed that this is a firt time authors book. His character grew beautifully. I felt as if I knew each one of them, they reminded me of someone I know. I felt the pain a fustration of the characters. I would recommend this book for that weekend getaway reading or the end of a long day just relaxing. I look forward to reading more from Mr. Hilmon in the future. Hopefully he will continue to share his wonderful friends with us and introduce new ones to us. I'm definately a big fan!

Worth Every Cent!!

Refreshing debut! I could not put this book down as the story of five friends swept me up and into their lives. Engrossing novel filled with drama, sex and friends who struggle with real issues.From fat, pretty, family, carreers, sexuality, and social class - this book has it all! A job well done - can't wait for the next one!:)
