In Barry's opera The Intelligence Park, one of his aims was to write music which would be both at one with the text and independent of it. This arrangement for 2 pianos, takes as its basis 5 chorales from the opera with themes ranging from cursing one's father to musings on nature and haunted cottages.
Technically demanding, an alternative version of Chorale III is included in the copy.
