First published in 1988, Fitness for Work has grown to become the UK 'bible' of occupational health and the Faculty of Occupational Medicine's flagship publication. This fourth edition reflects significant developments in legislation and guidelines, and changes in the information requirements of those working in the field. To an extent, occupational medicine must be tailored to individual patients under unique and specific circumstance. However, this book provides a wealth of useful consensus guidance, codes of practice, and locally evolved standards, to enable clinical judgements to be made. It is the most comprehensive text available on the effects of ill health on employment.
